Ford has changed the rules in the pickup truck line-up with the first F-150 Raptor. From the moment that this trim was presented all the other tuck manufacturers have tried to produce something similar. Engineers from Ford are aware of that fact and that is why they are preparing something new. Its prototype of the 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor has been spotted on the roads wearing heavy camouflage. The only thing under this cover that could be noted was restyled headlights with squared LED accents, possibly mimics its big brother.
Other changes that are expected are newly styled muscular grille and its freshly engrossed taillights. A different wheel design is also spoted. As for the body construction, this new 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor could host military grade, high scale aluminum alloy steel. Its automakers, with the use of lightweight components will mainly be looking to retain its light body. They will look to combine this light body with a high steel box steel frame and hence give birth to a unique Raptor ever.
2018 Ford F-150 Raptor – EcoBoost Engine
One of the main aspects of this new 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor is its engine. Under the hood will be a powerful 3.5 Liter EcoBoost. Thanks to the Ford’s new technology this DOHC 24-valve mill will deliver 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque.
The transmission will be 10-speed automatic which delivers power to all of its 4 wheels. Furthermore, existence of its advanced Terrain Management system will give drivers with 6 drive optimizing modes for different terrains and environment. Some of those settings which could be seen are Mud and Sand, Street and Baja
Along with this standard powertrain, Ford F-150 Raptor 2018 will also have an optional one. That could be an all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke Diesel powertrain. As far as the power outputs are concerned details about it is still inconclusive.
EPA of this new model is anticipated to be somewhere around 25 mpg on freeways, 18 mpg inside city and 20 mpg combined.
Ample styling also comes on the inside. The more rugged, blocky and bold F-150 Raptor 2018 is on the exterior, more refined is it in its interior. More leather and more comfort are expected. New 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor will probably start at $51,000 and go up to around $54,000. No confirmation is given regarding its release but the chances are that it could hit dealerships at the first half of the 2017. Competition may come from truck heavyweights such as Nissan, Toyota, GMC and RAM.
